El arte contemporáneo y la tradición dialogan desde el pasado 25 de Octubre en Córdoba gracias a la muestra “El patio de mi casa”, en la que 16 artistas de prestigio internacional exponen sus creaciones en otros tantos patios cordobeses, seña de la identidad arquitectónica de la ciudad presente en ella desde su fundación.
Patios privados y de titularidad institucional participan en esta iniciativa única en el mundo, enmarcada en el proyecto de candidatura de Córdoba para lograr la Capitalidad Europea de la Cultura en 2016 y que sirve para dar una imagen contemporánea de la ciudad.
Los patios serán Patrimonio de la Humanidad
Un total de 2.016 caracoles pintados de dorado y sueltos en un patio, el sonido real de varias mezquitas de Beirut o manos gigantescas que salen por las ventanas son algunas de las creaciones encastradas durante estos días en lo más típico de la arquitectura cordobesa, unos patios que están en proceso de ser declarados por la UNESCO como patrimonio intangible de la humanidad.
La protagonista absoluta de esta exposición es la ciudad y, en concreto, los patios, que son concebidos por Mosquera como un “espacio intermedio entre lo público y lo privado”, y en los que se han instalado proyectos creados en la mayoría expresamente para esta exposición.
Mounira Al Solh, Magdalena Atria, Fernando Baena, Cai Guo-Qiang, Mariana Castillo Deball, Carlos Garaicoa, Federico Guzmán, Mona Hatoum, Kan Xuan, Glena León, Cristina Lucas, Rubens Mano, Priscilla Monge, Jorge Perianes, Nedko Solakov y Nina Yuen son los responsables de estas creaciones.

Words from the architect
Granatum - A building that evokes the structure of a symbolic fruit for Granada. A geometry inspired on the nature. The honeycomb grid is adopted as the best way to connect spaces at different heights and to organize the whole audience. It is also the base for the structural system, as it becomes the principle to solve the structure of a no-column space. The hall configuration is a “fan type”, trying to avoid the strong hierarchy of the “shoe box”, with impersonalized stalls and small boxes on the upper levels. The hall proposed has 1462 seats organized equally in a series of terraces around the stage that impedes the discrimination of the audience The hall is considered here as a social space, compact and cozy, reproducing the spirit of the Old Italian opera theatres, where the relation among the audience was also very important.
The foyers are part of the thickness of the facade, facing the open space of the future development of the city beyond the loop highway at the back of the site. The entrance is also tangential to the main axis of the site, a bent entrance, inspired by tradition of the Islamic architecture, entrances breaking the axis with abrupt turns, very present in the historic buildings of the city.
